Where the ServiceNow Jobs Are in 2026: Northern Virginia, DC, Tampa and Texas, Mapped From Employer Postings

Now Contracts Research · Oct 27, 2026

Of 135 employer-direct ServiceNow roles on this board, 33 are in Virginia and 14 in Chantilly alone. Tampa and MacDill hold 7, Plano 4, and 68 are posted as 'United States' with no city. 35 are remote. Why cleared ServiceNow work pins to bases and agency campuses, and what a national posting really means.

ServiceNow work is sold as platform work that can be done from anywhere. The employer postings disagree. Of the 135 ServiceNow roles live on this board on 27 October 2026, all from employers' own career sites, 100 are not remote. The ones with a city attached cluster in a handful of places with one thing in common: a federal customer within commuting distance.

The map

Location Roles What is there
United States (no city) 68 National practice and remote-eligible postings, mostly Deloitte, Accenture, ICF
Chantilly, VA 14 Intelligence-community and defense campuses; Booz Allen, Deloitte
McLean, VA 6 Booz Allen's junior developer, Now Assist and CMDB roles; Deloitte TS/SCI developers
Reston, VA 5 Leidos headquarters and its agency programs
Arlington, VA 4 Pentagon-adjacent programs
Plano, TX 4 The largest cluster outside the DC region
Tampa and MacDill, FL 5 and 2 Booz Allen systems administrators and platform engineers at MacDill AFB
San Francisco and San Diego, CA 3 and 2 End-customer and Navy-adjacent work
Washington, DC 2 Agency headquarters
Chicago, IL; Camp Springs, MD; Odenton, MD; Bedford, MA 2 each Partner offices and base-adjacent programs

Single roles sit in Alexandria, Ashburn, Fort Lee and Springfield in Virginia, plus Denver, Oklahoma City, Columbus, Sterling Forest NY and Ashland NE.

Add the Virginia cities together and the state holds 33 roles. With DC and the two Maryland towns, the capital region holds 39, which is 29% of the board and 58% of every role that names a city. No other state reaches ten.

Why the pins land where they do

Seven employers post 107 of the 135 roles: Deloitte 29, CACI 21, ICF 16, Leidos 13, Guidehouse 11, Booz Allen 9 and GDIT 8. All seven sell to the federal government, and 33 of the roles carry the Clearance Required tag. Cleared work has rules that platform work does not. The instance often runs on a government network that can only be reached from a cleared facility. So the role sits where the facility is.

That is why the pins are bases and campuses, not downtowns. Chantilly and McLean sit beside the intelligence agencies and their contractor parks. MacDill AFB in Tampa houses two combatant commands, which is why a consulting firm posts systems administrators in MacDill rather than in a Tampa office tower. Odenton is next to Fort Meade. Camp Springs borders Joint Base Andrews. Ashland, Nebraska, is a short drive from Offutt AFB, where GDIT also posts ServiceNow work. Bedford, Massachusetts, is Hanscom AFB.

The same logic ran through a general-board sample in October 2026. One staffing firm reposted a single ServiceNow developer requisition across 12 Northern Virginia suburbs. The client sat in one of them and the firm did not know which commute the candidate would accept.

The cleared jobs guide covers what Secret, TS/SCI and Public Trust mean for these roles. The short version for geography: a TS/SCI role is almost always on site, and a Secret role sometimes allows hybrid work from the same metro.

What "United States" means

Half the board, 68 of 135 roles, lists no city. Nearly all of these come from consulting partners. Deloitte posts 29 roles and almost every one is national, as are Accenture's architect and implementation specialist postings and most of ICF's. A national posting means one of three things, and it is worth asking which before the first interview.

  • Travel-based delivery. You live anywhere and spend the week at the client. Still the norm on large implementations.
  • Hub-aligned hybrid. You are expected within reach of a practice hub, usually the DC region for public-sector practices.
  • Genuinely remote. Offered for scarce skills. The Deloitte GenAI engineering and security-operations roles are the clearest examples on this board.

The answer changes the offer more than the stated range does.

The remote quarter

35 of 135 roles, 26%, are flagged remote. That is close to Dice, where 145 of 650 "ServiceNow developer" postings were remote in an October 2026 sample, 22%. Remote roles here skew to the partner tier and to product specialties rather than generic development. Almost none of the cleared roles are remote, and none of the base-pinned ones.

Only one posting carries the explicit Remote tag, so use the remote listing, which reads the posting's remote flag rather than the title.

Outside the capital

Texas is the only other state with a visible cluster. Plano holds 4 roles and the Texas listing catches the rest as they appear. On Dice the same month, Westlake, Coppell and Dallas appeared repeatedly in ServiceNow contract postings. Texas demand exists but reaches staffing firms before it reaches employer career sites.

California's 5 roles split between San Francisco and San Diego. The City and County of San Francisco posted a ServiceNow developer at $159K to $200K in October 2026, the highest end-customer range in a 60-posting sample. Chicago's 2 roles are partner offices. The Now Assist and GenAI roles discussed in the AI jobs analysis are national, not regional.

How to use this

  • In the DC region: you are in the market. Browse Virginia and Chantilly, and read the employer guide for what each integrator buys.
  • Near a base: search by the base town, not the metro. MacDill, Odenton and Camp Springs do not appear under Tampa, Baltimore or Washington.
  • Elsewhere and staying put: filter remote, target partner roles, and expect a quarter of the board rather than all of it.
  • Weighing a move: a clearance plus a Northern Virginia address is the strongest position in US ServiceNow hiring. Set an alert for Virginia before you relocate, and watch how fast the Chantilly count turns over.
