Remote ServiceNow Jobs in 2026: 153 of 786 Roles Are Fully Remote, and Here Is Who Posts Them

Now Contracts Research · Oct 29, 2026

One ServiceNow posting in five on this board is fully remote, against one in eight for SAP. The remote roles come from three places: staffing firms placing W2 contractors, federal integrators with Public Trust or cleared remote-eligible seats, and the partners' HRSD, SPM and FSO practices. Which product lines travel, what the remote postings pay, and how to read 'remote' when a city is also named.

ServiceNow work travels better than most enterprise software work. On 29 October 2026, 153 of the 786 ServiceNow roles live on Now Contracts are fully remote, which is 19 percent. Configuration happens in a browser, instances live in the vendor's cloud, and the people who run them have been remote since before 2020. But the remote share is not spread evenly, and the postings make clear who gets to work from home and who does not.

Who posts remote ServiceNow roles

Reading the 153 postings, three groups account for most of the inventory.

Staffing firms placing W2 contractors. Experis alone has six remote postings (an SPM functional designer at $85 to $90 an hour, an SPM delivery lead at $90 to $95, a BCM developer, a security product owner, a contract-management developer). Samprasoft, Tier4 Group, Kaav and System One post remote developer and administrator contracts, and System One's remote developer in the DC area is at $63 to $75 an hour. These are the roles most often described as "100% remote" with no city qualifier. The contract guide covers the terms.

Federal integrators and their subcontractors. Leidos posts a remote ITSM/ITOM developer, ASRC Federal a remote senior developer, NetImpact Strategies three remote roles (system administrator at $95K to $120K, ITSM operations engineer at $100K to $140K, integration architecture engineer at $135K to $160K), EmpowerAI a CMDB configuration analyst at $96K to $149K and a catalog practice lead at $106K to $164K, and DecisionPoint three remote roles anchored to Chicago. Most of these are Public Trust or "remote-eligible with clearance" seats; the clearance guide explains why federal remote work still requires US residence and often a specific state.

Partners' specialist practices. NewRocket (FSO business process consultant, ITAM senior engineer), Alldus (HRSD developer, business process consultant), Pyramid Consulting (FSO dispute management developer) and Virtual Vocations (a platform architect) post remote permanent roles in product lines where the consultant works with a business team rather than an IT operations team.

Which product lines are remote

Product line Remote postings in the first 30 Pattern
ITSM and administration 8 Support, catalog and self-service roles, often federal
SPM 4 All Experis and Tier4 contracts; the most remote line by share
HRSD 2 Partner permanent roles
Financial services operations (FSO) 3 Banks and insurers hiring through partners
ITAM and CMDB 2 Data-quality roles that run from a queue
Integrations and architecture 3 Senior roles; architects are the exception to the on-site rule
FSM, SecOps, developer generalists the rest Mixed

The lines that are rarely remote are the ones the geography guide maps to specific towns: cleared ITOM and SecOps work at the integrators in Chantilly, Reston and Tampa, and the on-site federal programs where the instance sits on a government network. The ITOM guide shows how few of those 71 roles are remote.

What remote roles pay

Pay is stated on ten of the first thirty remote postings, enough to see the shape.

  • Remote W2 contracts: $50 to $95 an hour, with the SPM leads at the top ($85 to $95) and a development lead at the bottom ($50 to $55). The board-wide hourly figure on the rates page is $65 to $75, so remote contract roles bracket the market rather than discounting it.
  • Remote permanent roles: $95K to $164K at the federal subcontractors, against a board-wide posted range of $108K to $170K. The remote federal roles sit slightly below the on-site cleared ones, which the pay guide attributes to the clearance premium rather than to location.

There is no visible remote discount in ServiceNow. The discount is in what is remote: the configuration and support roles that the vendor's own AI tooling is aimed at, as the Now Assist guide describes. The architect and ITOM roles that are least exposed to that are also least often remote.

How to read "Remote (Chicago, IL)"

About a third of the remote postings name a city or state as well. The combinations mean different things.

  • "Remote (United States)." Fully remote, any state. Usually a staffing firm or a partner.
  • "Remote (VA)" or "Remote (MO)." Remote, but the employer needs you in that state, either for payroll, for a state-government contract, or because the client occasionally wants you in a room. Samprasoft's remote administrator (VA) and Tier4's SPM engineer (MO) are this type.
  • "Remote (Chicago, IL)" from a federal contractor. The contract is in Chicago, the program is remote today, and the posting is telling you the badge office is in Chicago. DecisionPoint's three roles read this way. Expect occasional on-site days.
  • "Remote (District of Columbia)" with a clearance. Remote-eligible cleared work. You will go on site for the clearance process and for anything classified. Leidos and System One post these.

When in doubt, the first question on the phone screen is "how many days a quarter would I be on site, and where". The posting guide covers the rest of the lines.

What this means if you need remote

  • Start with the SPM, HRSD and ITSM categories and the staffing-firm company pages; they are most of the supply.
  • If you hold a Public Trust or a Secret clearance, the federal subcontractors (NetImpact, EmpowerAI, DecisionPoint, ASRC Federal) are posting remote permanent roles with stated salaries, which is unusual in this market.
  • Put your state in your profile. A third of remote postings care which state you are in, and employers with database access filter on it.
  • Do not assume ITOM, SecOps or architect roles are off the table. They are rarer remotely, not absent, and the remote ones pay the same as the on-site ones.

The board's remote filter shows every fully remote ServiceNow role live right now and updates every three hours, and the career ladder guide is worth reading before you decide which of those roles to take.

Contract or Permanent? W2, Corp-to-Corp and Contract-to-Hire in the ServiceNow Market, 2026

230 of the 786 ServiceNow roles on this board allow W2 contract terms and 68 allow corp-to-corp, but only 33 of the 288 postings that state pay are hourly. The contract layer is real and thin, it pays $65 to $75 an hour against a $108K-to-$170K permanent band, and it is almost entirely staffing firms. When contract makes sense in ServiceNow, how the W2-only rule works, and the arithmetic for converting.
